    3. Alison Had a quick poke around my records I have Mary (Higgot) Wildgoose bapt to Elizabeth Wildgoose (spurious) 14 Oct 1798. I have Elizabeth Wildgoose baptised 11 Oct 1771 (possible) and two others bapt in October 1884 ; also one in Feb 1787 (possible if late baptism) There are Higet/Higgate/Higgett/Higgott/ and other variations aplenty in the records Cannot find an entry in the bastardy records for Crich Looking for marriages around this time I can only find Elizabeth Wildgoose to John Twigg on 18 Nov 1805 (both of Tansley) Sorry could not be more helpful Regards Peter On 4 Jun 2013, at 06:49, Aliqot wrote: > > Could someone explain how / where to find bastardy records? 3. Peter, Many thanks - from later census data, I reckon "my" Elizabeth was the one born in 1771. Would love to pin down a Higget (whatever spelling) as the name crops up elsewhere in my research too. Complicated story, involving NUTTALL of Highoredish - I think their family links to yours via SAUNDERS at some point. I'm sure we corresponded about these some years ago! Grateful for your help - at least I know there's nothing in Crich bastardy records.
