    3. Nivard I will send photo off list It was in a framed photo with his two medals the British War and Victory medals (plus photo of himself) What is also odd (on my double checking) is his attestation date of 8:12:15 when the date on the clasp is 20:8:15?? I feel another unsolvable oddity rearing its head Peter On 2 Jun 2013, at 10:26, Nivard Ovington wrote: > Hi Peter > > I am not aware of an official clasp for Ypres or so dated > > There is an earlier clasp to the 1914 Star dated 5th August - 22nd > November 1914 > > Which shows that the recipient had actually served under fire in that period > > What medal did you find it with? > > Do you have a picture > > Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > > On 02/06/2013 10:06, Peter Patilla wrote: >> Morning all >> On of my WWI soldiers has, with his medals, a small leaf shaped clasp which has the inscription YPRES 20:8:15 >> Not seen this before >> Do not think it a "sweetheart clasp" >> Any ideas welcomed. >> Peter > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to DERBYSGEN-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message

    3. Hi Peter Well it does not look like the usual MID Oak Leaf And I don't recall seeing the Oak Leaf with a date on it I wonder if it is an association badge ? The Long Long Trail is probably the best place to ask Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 02/06/2013 12:26, Peter Patilla wrote: > Nivard > I will send photo off list > It was in a framed photo with his two medals the British War and Victory medals (plus photo of himself) > What is also odd (on my double checking) is his attestation date of 8:12:15 when the date on the clasp is 20:8:15?? > I feel another unsolvable oddity rearing its head > Peter
