On this day of the FA Cup I thought the group might be interested to hear about a search the FA is doing to discover descendents of its founding fathers. Also as Chesterfield was an original member, it may be that some of them came from Derbyshire. Eight men drafted the original laws of the Football Association in 1863 and we know their names. The FA will invite their descendants to a special ceremony at Wembley in October this year (150 years on). So if you might be one, it's worth looking and I'd love to know if any come from Derbyshire. Of course it could also apply to other lists so by all means pass this on, Barbara They are:_ Ebenezer Cobb Morely, Arthur Pember, Charles William Alcock, Francis Maule Campbell, John Forster Alcock, Herbert Thomas Steward, George Twizell Wawn, and James Turner.
