    1. [DBY] Brickwall demolition - MNO NEWTON
    2. Nina Terry
    3. One of my brickwalls is the NEWTON family in Draycott, Wilne and Shardlow. My gt grandfther, Henry NEWTON's birth was registered in Apr-Jun qtr 1844 in Shardlow. From census in 1851 he is living with his father George born 1815 Draycott and older brother John. Said to have been born in Draycott and living in parish of Wilne. The 1841 census shows father George.a farmer at Draycott and his wife Sarah with son John c 1838 and another son George c 1840. Sarah nee BOSWORTH dies in 1847. in 1861, my gt gt grandfather, George is a butcher on the High Road at Beeston with second wife Margaret CHADBURN and sons William born 1843 and my Henry. In 1881, George is a beerhouse keeper at the New Inn, Backmoor, Norton Derbyshire with wife Margaret. Possible father for George is John NEWTON b 1776 Derbyshire and mother Elizabeth Sscrimshaw MOSES b 1781 of Mansfield. but I have not confirmed that yet. Henry marries Elizabeth SHIPSTONE in July 1865 in Nottingham. They are living on Plumtree Street. The marriage certificate says his father George is now a publican. I can't find Henry again anywhere after that date, although Elizabeth is living with her mother and has two children, John Henry b 1865 (my grandfather) and Mary Ellen b 1870. Elizabeth says she is married on 1871 census. Only started this side recently so don't have a lot of info yet and can't get to the Derbyshire archives either at this time so I am really interested in any information on this NEWTON family if anyone has them in their tree. and would be grateful for anything on them. I realise that Henry's disappearance may not be to do with Derbyshire but always live in hope that someone will turn him up! Thank you Nina Terry
