Another NORTON brickwall! James NORTON (s/o Joseph NORTON & Mary, nee CAPEWELL), was born in Cauldwell, Stapenhill psh (chr 23 Jan 1767) and baptised as a General Baptist in Melbourne, 11 Aug 1782. He was a beneficiary of his father's will, dated 3 Oct 1811. These are the only definite references I have found for him. If he remained in Cauldwell he will have been buried in the Cauldwell General Baptist burial ground, the registers for which have been destroyed by fire, so if he died prior to 1 Jul 1837, there will be no surviving record of his death. Does anybody recognise a marriage or (in case he left Cauldwell) a burial for a James NORTON born c1766 / 7?
