    1. [DBY] Brickwall Demolition - K and L
    2. Charani
    3. No eligible families beginning with K but there is on L - for LUNN. Not the parents though because the father, Daniel, was from Staffordshire and the mother, Lucy (nee PARKER), from Leicestershire. The children, however, were all born in Newhall, Derbyshire before at least one of them wandered off to Yorkshire. The children were George (b 1865), Minnie (b1867), William (b1868), Henry (b1870), Adeline (b1872), the gloriously named Eglantine Maud (b1874), Bertha Ann (1876), Levi (b1877), Beatrice Elizabeth (b1880) and the wonderfully named Marlborough (1882-1917) who went to Yorkshire. I don't know any more about these children simply because I haven't got to them yet. The brickwall being a lack of time. Anyone with a real brickwall that could do with some help demolishing? -- Charani (UK) OPC for Walton, Ashcott, Shapwick, Greinton and Clutton, SOM http://wsom-opc.org.uk

    3. My longstanding (20 years) brickwall in the ancestry of a James LOMAS... What I know 1841 census, Shaw Stile Fernilee, '55' years, farmer, b Derbyshire 1851 census, Shaw Stile Fernilee, head, 66 years, farmer of 140 acres, b Combs He married Hannah HIBBERT, 30 May 1809 at Hope St Peter -'of Hope Parish, bachelor, with a witness John LOMAS' (Note -John LOMAS m Betty HIBBERT 8 Nov 1803 at Hope St Peter) From Taxal St James burial register: 'buried 27 Dec 1855 James LOMAS of Fernilee aged 72' but from the headstone 'James LOMAS of Shawstile, died 27 Dec 1855, 73' If born Combs, should have been christened at Chapel-en-le-Frith. There are the following christenings      6 Aug 1780 James son of John LOMAS of Hollins Combs (but was buried 4 Dec 1780)     20 Aug 1780 James son of John LOMAS of Cockyard (buried 2 Dec 1780)     20 Jan1781 James son of William LOMAS of  Bridgefield (this James married Elizabeth Beard and farmed at Tunstead Milton)     25 Dec 1783 James son of John LOMAS of Diglake (buried 23 May 1784) I have checked both the Parish Register and Bishops Transcript and there is no sign of additional christenings. I've not found any wills for the family.
