Hi Blanche Thanks for the info. I had found the baptisms on your Stapenhill site previously. However Mary's date of birth is 3 years out, I know this is not necessarily significant but all the censuses and burial ages seem to match a birth of 1781. If the Ann you have identified as perhaps being Mary then their daughter Mary is not my 4xg grandmother as she died before she could marry my 4xg grand father. The search goes on . . . Baptisms: AIMES Hannah Henry & Mary Newhall 20 Sep 1776 AIMES James Henry & Mary Newhall 25 Mar 1782 AIMES Mary Henry & Mary Newhall 14 Jan 1785 AIMES Joseph Henry & Mary Newhall 10 Apr 1787 AIMES Jane Henry & Mary Newhall 2 Jun 1789 AIMES William Henry & Mary Newhall 16 Jan 1791 AIMES George Henry & Mary Newhall 22 Dec 1792 AIMES William Henry & Mary Newhall 29 May 1794 AIMS Elisabeth Henry & Mary Newhall 17 Jul 1796 HAMES Sarah James & Deborah Newhall 11 Mar 1810 Burials: AIMS William Newhall 15 May 1794 Son of Henry & Mary HAMES Ann Newhall 26 May 1807 Wife of James HAMES Elisabeth Newhall 7 Jul 1806 Dau of Henery & Mary HANES Mary Newhall 5 Mar 1805 Dau of Enery & *Ann* There were also HAINES in Stapenhill (in Cauldwell, not Newhall) - mainly at the end of C17. Newhall would appear to be consistent. You will need to check the original PRs (microfilm at DRO) as the LDS has filmed only the BTs. The above have come from a transcript, so it's possible that the mother of Mary, bur 1805, should have been Mary rather than Ann, and the name HAMES, rather than HANES. (Even then, they could have been wrongly entered in the register - human error in the original). I realise that this has only given you more problems to sort out, but hope it may help in the long run!
