Sadly there have been several attempts by persons unknown to falsely claim some of our list members have been mugged whilst abroad and need financial assistance to get home. *Please do not respond to these appeals.* They are NOT genuine. Someone who thinks it is clever/fun to extort money from others and cause unnecessary distress to the account holder has hijacked/faked etc the email account. Regrettably for the person who's having their account abused in this manner, they will have to be unsubscribed immediately until the problem's been resolved. This will prevent any further attempts to send mails to the list. I know most of you are already aware of this particularly nasty trick. This warning is for those who are unaware of it or may believe it to be true.
