I just looked up Family Tree Maker in the App store, and found apps for both iPad and iPhone (there is no such thing as an Android iPad, by the way). You might want to take a look at those apps if you are used to FTM. The app does say that it can move between Apple products, PCs, Androids so it may suit you very well.
