Hi List My 3x great grandmother Catharine Gadsby (c1776 Cubley) married Thomas Dickin (c1780 Doveridge) on 14th March 1805 in the parish of Cubely. I have never been able to trace any other records for her. Has she changed her christian name from that she was baptised with? At the time of her marriage she was 29 so was she previously married and therefore Gadsby is not her maiden name? I recently took a DNA test with ancestry and I have been matched with a 4th to 6th generation cousin. Our only match is the name Gadsby and the location is Cubley. From the "matched person's tree" I have traced a James Gadsby bap Cubley 17th May 1807 an illegitimate son of a Hannah Gadsby. Hannah may be the daughter of Thomas Gadsby and Mary Moorcroft. They had a large family in Cubley starting in 1758 with Hannah and ending in 1780 again with a Hannah. The 1780 baptism seems to fit. My 3x great grandmother Catherine's age also seems to fit this family but unfortunately there is not a Catherine in the! records (batch no C01686-2). I'd appreciate any help in locating the family of Catherine Gadsby c1776. Stephen Burns
