Hi Joan have you tried the GRO indexes? You can now search online, and see the date at death, which obviously narrows your search- though you can only search in 2 year 'slices' at a time. https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/menu.asp sadly Kirk Ireton burials have not yet been transcribed in Free REG. Hi Joan If the family (in the person of the person who wrote the names in the Bible) didn't know the name of the child, doesn't that imply there was never a name and that the child was stillborn? I've looked at cemetery records and from time to time, there are quite a number of entries with 'stillborn' as the only name. Your query might be unanswerable.. Hi Margaret, Yes thanks, I have but no joy. I'm beginning to think that it must have been a stillbirth as I'm sure the bible would have been amended. Margaret You can actually search the GRO site in 5 year slices - the year you input +/- 2 years.
