    3. I have been a lurker on this list for many years. I have now abandoned my efforts at research due to age, poor eyesight and restricted movement but remain a “snapper-up of unconsidered trifles” In that vein I have been told that “Tudor” House in Brassington was built by Thomas Westerne in 1615. There is no doubt about the date but I have no proof of the builder. The point of interest is that Thomas Westerne was my 10x great-grandfather.That research was done by my late brother who was most meticulous so I have no reason to doubt it. I was recently driven down past the house and the joys of ancester hunting all came back to me. Great! 3. Hi Maurice I suspect your best course of action would be to contact the county records office to see if they have anything on it The house is grade II listed, so it may be worth enquiring with Historic England if they have the builder recorded https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__historicengland.org.uk_listing_the-2Dlist_list-2Dentry_1109448&d=DwID-g&c=kKqjBR9KKWaWpMhASkPbOg&r=YaknIKGQ3o9fStB3h0sMI9MrdNSOVs352NJVvwA-IWw&m=FsTfJv9SGtOXAhv14LLD1UnwiwvqXA15juA80imNklk&s=kCj7RqNtVYwVUuOJFj0i__ijwjJYOaqa-paKDYbAAew&e= Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 26/08/2018 10:09, Maurice Snowdon via DERBYSGEN wrote: > I have been a lurker on this list for many years.
