    1. [DBY]Tracing a missing relative
    2. Brenda Brown (Telkom)
    3. Hi everyone I have traced all my relatives with the exception of one. His name was James Ernest Mulligan and was born in 1889 Preston, Lancashire (on the Derbyshire side of the family Amy Dewsnap married my Grandfather John Bernard Mulligan. James Ernest disappears on the 1911 census and no death record anywhere in the country (on the 1911 census it was noted that 2 children had dies but these were James’s two sisters so he must have been alive in 1911). His brother my grandfather was in USA at this time and came back to UK to join the forces in 1914 when the war broke out. Does anyone have any ideas as to why I am not able to find this person? Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Brenda Brown South Africa

    3. Hello, Its been many years since I used this forum and am just fishing around to try and get back into the family history, while Im on a break from uni. I am interested in finding the death or burial for Sarah SHORE and anything else about her family. Sarah was born Sarah GLOSSOP around 1788 (dont know where but would love to find out) and married George SHORE in CRICH 21 Oct 1805. Sarah's parents were Richard GLOSSOP and Dorothy WALKER of HOLLOWAY, CRICH. I have also visited the Crich web site so have all the info on the family from there. Sarah & George moved to DRONFIELD and had about 8 children, I think there might have been more. One child born in Fairfield could also be theirs but not confirmed yet. Im assuming Sarah may have died between having her last child around 1929 and the 1841 census as she was not listed. I have the family details from the 1841 census. I would also love to find out more about her father Richard GLOSSOP born about 1747 (according to his death in Crich) but from memory I needed to search some settlement certificates, which I dont have access to. I wondered if Mike's journey's had also revealed anything more about this lot but it seems I cant access the archives yet. Im also wondering if any new sites with access to free records have popped up since last researching (abt 5 years now). Any help would be most appreciated. Cheers,Kim May

    3. Thanks to Nivard & Christine this now solved. Indeed Albert was ill. son of Mary MILNER who wed Henry DUDSON . Albert took the name DUDSON in 1901/1911 but reverted to MILNER by 1917. The 1939 Register also proved the DUDSON link as Albert’s daughter Eva MILNER was with grandparents Mary & Henry DUDSON. What a well-worth question to pose to the Derbyshire list who responded as usual. I am most appreciative Peter > On 22 Jun 2018, at 18:59, Christine Benson via DERBYSGEN <derbysgen@rootsweb.com> wrote: > > Hi Peter and Nivard, > > When looking for Albert I found the baptism Nivard found but I couldn't find him in the censuses. However I found a suggested record for him naming him as Albert DUDSON. I also found him with this name in 1911. That suggests his mother Mary married Henry DUDSON. I cannot find a birth for an Albert DUDSON which would appear to confirm it. Henry and Mary had been married 20 years according to the 1911 census.
