    2. Carolyn From the page produced by Nivard's link, select "Church Records" on the left hand side of the page. The first entry on the ensuing page reads - "Church Records The Anglican parish register dates from 1604. The church was in the rural deanery of Chesterfield. Michael SPENCER has provided an extract of Bolsover burials entries. Your additions and corrections are welcomed. The Congregational chapel was built in 1662. There was a Catholic chapel on High Street. The Primitive Methodist chapel and the Wesleyan Methodist chapel were both built in 1865. David BEVIS has a photograph of the Methodist Church on Geo-graph, taken in January, 2011." 2. Nivard Ovington
    3. Hi folks For those having problems finding the aforementioned burials by Michael Spencer kindly added by Lou (or other things for other places) The best method I find when you want information about any place in the UK is to google the place name and the word Genuki So Bolsover Genuki Gets <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.genuki.org.uk_big_eng_DBY_Bolsover&d=DwICaQ&c=kKqjBR9KKWaWpMhASkPbOg&r=YaknIKGQ3o9fStB3h0sMI9MrdNSOVs352NJVvwA-IWw&m=Yx_QbjQ7JtwKssfB2xQ4EvQmQYdByZczHf55ekpyCBY&s=k1803a3ICVGQMG5SNML6Nbj4z-6XZVhvXtp7CNflS1Y&e=> Then scroll down for information / records on that place You will generally find a wealth of information on that place In Bolsovers case, apart from oodles of other information you will find a section "Church History" with details and photos Under that "Church Records" Where you will find the third item is :- Michael SPENCER has provided an extract of Bolsover burials entries. Your additions and corrections are welcomed. Which contains a link to the transcripts The same is true of Church Gresley <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.genuki.org.uk_big_eng_DBY_ChurchGresley&d=DwICaQ&c=kKqjBR9KKWaWpMhASkPbOg&r=YaknIKGQ3o9fStB3h0sMI9MrdNSOVs352NJVvwA-IWw&m=Yx_QbjQ7JtwKssfB2xQ4EvQmQYdByZczHf55ekpyCBY&s=IryJeALngXeiJvmvf1OYN2hLttsVtrXnFw3l4-1L4q4&e=> Under Church Records, you will find transcriptions of the parish registers not just burials The link for the Michael Spencer burials does seem stuck on that page so will check with Lou on that one Hope that helps Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 15/09/2018 23:24, Carolyn Hastings wrote: > Oh dear, forgot to add my name to the post with my name. > > In any case, perhaps this is why I've never gotten much headway with > Genuki; I can't follow your directions. 1. [DBY]Burial files for Bolsover and Church Gresley
    2. Hi, seekers, I have gathered up all of Mike SPENCER's burial postings for Bolsover and Church Gresley and added a few records that I found. You can reach them by going to the parish profiles on Genuki and clicking on Church History, then select the link for the Burial List and SHAZAM! New, because some of the records I contributed are from indexes, there may be errors, so any corrections will be gratefully received. I remember someone asking, about 6 or so years ago, for the Bolsover Burials. I really do hope you find some answers there. Lou Mills (Genuki maintainer for DBY)

    2. I have a simple silver ring, with a rough cut Blue John stone in it. It was my Mom’s and I recall her talking about it. She was born and lived in DBY (so was I) until we emigrated to the USA. She said she toured the mine and bought the ring there. I have it with me now. —WendyE Sent from my iPad > On Sep 11, 2018, at 4:43 PM, ANNE <granne@cogeco.ca> wrote: > > Apparently Blue John is pretty well mined out now, so it has become expensive to buy jewellery made from it. > > You can still take a boat ride through the mine - a very interesting tour. > Anne > > > -----Original Message----- From: lr_mills@mauimail.com > Sent: Tuesday, September 11, 2018 5:12 PM > To: derbysgen > Subject: [DBY]Castleton "Blue John" > > Hi, fellow seekers, > > While trolling through some Military History information I saw the term "Castleton Blue John".
