    3. "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory. Amen" Catholics do not add the last sentence, they stop at "evil". As far as I know, most other denominations/sects use the first form, unless they have moved on to the modern version. I hadn't realized that the Council of Nicea had addressed the Lord's Prayer, but I do know they came up with a creed (not my favorite) called the Nicean Creed. It is: *WE BELIEVE* in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen. I prefer the Apostles Creed, which is: believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried;* the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic** church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen. Both of these are the traditional language; there now exists for both more modern language. 2. Hi, Prunella, I have seen the MYCOCK surname several places in those Chelmorton files. The best place to look for Baptisms is on the Familysearch (FHL) website. You can put in a surname, enter "Chelmorton, Derbyshire, England" in the place field and get plenty of feedback. Make sue to click in the "match exactly" box after the place name. It may take a bit of fooling around to get familiar with the way it works. 2. Ahhh, terminology. Mike SPENCER does not have a "site" on Genuki. But he does have some information on THIS mailing list in the archives. I have collected those lists into a single file and have put that FILE on Genuki. I apologize if that's confusing. To make matters worse, Mike SPENCER does have a website somewhere else on the Internet, but it does not contain these lists. And, as Nivard has noted, Rootsweb/Ancestry doesn't allow us to put a simple link in an e-mail anymore. 3. My gt. grandmother was Annie PASHLEY, born 1854 at Staveley. I have a line through Whitwell, Sheffield and Worksop to William PASHLEY who married Elizabeth NEEDHAM in 1760 at Worksop. I cannot identify this William PASHLEY. There are several William Pashleys born in south Yorkshire in the right period with fathers - John, Francis, William, Thomas and George. There is a Richard Pashley who had a daughter Mary at Whitwell in 1720, and my William had a son Richard at Worksop in 1767. Could this be a clue? Bob Jennings.

    3. To All the Kind People: I did find the Bolsover page readily, and yes, even the link to the parish church of St. Mary. However, once there, I could not find the link to the burials. In my meanderings, I did hit upon at least one link that was helpful, but not in the way that the burials list has turned out to be. Without Sue's direct link, I'm not sure I ever would have found it. Operator error, I'm sure. Thank you all again, Carolyn Carolyn Hastings Madison AL On Mon, Sep 17, 2018 at 11:31 AM, ANNE <granne@cogeco.ca> wrote: > Thank you for this link Rosemary. 3. Good afternoon I am adding “bits of interest” (to me at least!) around my WW1 project I have the following note (source unknown) On Saturday 5th September 1914, Mrs Morrison (the founder of the World War One flag day movement) launched her first collection of the Great War. Three thousand six hundred collecting tins were issued and each collector carried a tray laden with flags. It soon became evident that the sellers ‑ with their red, white and blue scarves, and members of the Boys' Brigade and Boy Scouts who assisted them, had entirely captured the sympathy of the public. I am trying to verify this and find further info on Mrs Morrison. Google had failed me (at least I know where to shop:-) ) I am writing about the 1d pin badges/flags which are now highly collectable If anyone has further info on Mrs Morrison and the flag-days I would be delighted to receive. I have just added to the crichparish-ww1 website a bit about the Salvation Army’s Roll in the War (and seen a reference to the Church Army (to be pursued) ) Peter

    1. [DBY]SENIOR of Darley / non-conformism in the area?
    2. Mark Allen
    3. Hi I am currently looking at Dorothy SENIOR who married John PRYME in Darley in 1614. There are 15-20 burials of SENIORs in Darley from the start of the register up to the 1660s, but only 3 baptisms of children of Anthony in the 1640s/50s so I am wondering if they were nonconformists hence the missing baptisms. Indeed Dorothy's son Edward PRIME was ejected from his parish in Sheffield in 1662 because he was Presbyterian. There are a number of wills from the family but none of them give any clues as to possible nonconformity (or mention Dorothy unfortunately), and indeed many of them explicitly state that they are to be buried in the parish church at Darley. Does anyone know of any records of nonconformists in the area around the turn of the 16th/17th century - even if it means an archive visit? (or is anyone else looking at the family - who seem to have risen to prominence from yeomen, owned a couple of manors in the area, and then disappeared again, all within the space of about a century) Cheers Mark
