So happy to hear John is alive and kicking. His site was the driving force for me to take my Doxey line back. During the journey I found he and I are cousins (4th - 1 removed I think). John used to sell (give for a donation perhaps is more accurate) a CD copy of his website for 10pounds. Totally agree Nivard but John used to link the census to church records which was very helpful in determining the families. In my case, the Slacks and Brooks are common names and it is hard to decipher who belongs to who at times! Especially when the Brooks are all names Thomas and Mary!! I don't find FreeCen much help - someone needs to update it but I know it is run by volunteers so that may not happen. And I do use John's site regularly. I'm just happy to hear he is alive and well. Perhaps he is now in a home, if I was living in UK I would try and ring or write to him, but now a resident of New Zealand...
