Thanks Marjorie and Peter for your thoughts on tribunals. I'll add going to Huddersfield library to look at their records to my to-do list. I can't see anything on the BNA. Yes, I agree with Sue, they are likely to be Methodist, or possibly other non-conformist, Registers. If you go to Derbyshire Record Office's page here: https://www.derbyshire.gov.uk/leisure/record-office/records/what-records-do-we-have.aspx and scroll to the bottom, you'll see listed a pdf Non-conformist Guide and a register list. I think you'll find Wirksworth Circuit in there. I have come across a number of late 19th century Wirksworth baptisms on Ancestry in the Collection "Ancestry.com. England, Select Births and Christenings, 1538-1975 [database on-line]. Provo, UT, USA: Ancestry.com Operations, Inc., 2014". The baptism place is given as "Parishes of Wirksworth Circuit, Derby, England". I know these aren't from Wirksworth St Mary's Church of England, because I've checked the parish register images. I'm assuming, therefore, that they are non-conformist but, without being able to see the images of the registers, I can't be sure. Can anyone help, please, and including where the registers can be viewed?
