Hi Stephen I have given your post a more suitable subject line otherwise it will be lost amongst the other replies I can't help personally as its a tad to far but do you know the location of the grave? Without a location someone could walk around a cemetery for days and still not find it Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 04-Aug-17 4:23 PM, stephen.bowen wrote: > Is there anyone living close to Nottingham Road Cemetery in Derby, who > would be able to look for a gravesite for me and maybe even take a picture ?
I think I have only ever been bored enough with one episode that I found myself checking emails before it was half way through, that was Adil Ray One mans meat and all that ;-) Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 04-Aug-17 2:42 PM, Lcsearch3528--- via DERBYSGEN wrote: > I started watching it today while eating my lunch. I know they can't do it but think two hours on her cases would have done them more justice, I felt it was rather rushed and leapt from one event to another to rapidly with no explanation They produced photos of her x times great grandparents, not a word of where they came from, just a few words would have helped I use the keyword function all the time on both Findmypast and Ancestry, the latters birthplace database is so flawed that its essential at times or you wouldn't find some people As to your last sentence, some would call it fate, but every person on the planet are only here because someone stepped out of a door and turned left or right, and did it five minutes later or earlier than someone else, such massive leaps from such tiny events, makes you think doesn't it, what if ??? I vaguely remembered her face, then someone said it was Big Brother, then I realised she is in an advert for razors or somesuch It just goes to show that they can't please everyone all of the time I thought both Adil Ray and Craig Revell Horwood were poor episodes At least she seemed interested last night, although clearly lacking in any knowledge of her lines (or history) but at least interested, I felt Horwood was just look at me, me, me I guess its a good job we all like different things or it would be a rather boring world I think theres a gap next week due to the athletics Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 04-Aug-17 1:29 PM, Joy Hungerford via DERBYSGEN wrote: > I must live in a bubble. At least you tried with Adil Ray, Nivard. I must admit that with Clare Balding, whom I dislike, and Emma Thingy, of whom I had not heard, I made no effort at all. Mind you, as a somewhat ancient Derbyshire girl, I does as I pleases. I found this one interesting. The journey is more interesting than the protagonist usually . This was interesting due to the Irish connection , with a mixed marriage, Catholic revival and what appeared to be an Orangemen thuggery. I wonder how the researchers got hold of photos of GG parents , from outside the families. There was an interesting example of using the Key Word functionality within the Ancestry search function. The more I watch and research, the more I believe that whilst macro history is "tidal" - economic cycles, globalisation / protectionist, peace/war etc. family history have pivotal decisions in most generation e.g. immigration , who to marry, apprenticeship and graduation etc. Nicholas -----Original Message----- From: DERBYSGEN [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Joy Hungerford via DERBYSGEN Sent: 04 August 2017 13:29 To: Derbyshire genealogy <[email protected]> Cc: Joy Hungerford <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [DBY] WDYTYA Emma Willis 9pm Thursday 3rd August I must live in a bubble. WOW what a surprise I just got. I received an email from another member of Ancestry.ca and low and behold she sent me a picture of my great grandparents tombstone. I cant believe it. There sure is an advantage be being a member. Thank you everyone. Nicholas, You may need to search Google for ANKERBOLD as it has been mis-transcribed on FMP. You can find a little about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tupton It was once a hamlet but it now appears to be little more than a road on the edge of Tupton. In the 1901 Census two large houses were listed in Ankerbold there. If you go on to Google Maps Satellite you can use *the little yellow man* to walk the road. There is more here: http://www.cadlhs.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/April2016pullout.pdf and you may now be able to dig further using Google, Google Books, Trade Directories, etc Ruth
I started watching it today while eating my lunch. However, after 20 mins I was so bored I turned over to the news! I think the best episode so far has been Adil Ray, and I must admit I wasn't really sure who he was until my daughter enlightened me. It was definitely worth watching. I have a place of birth in 1850's given as Aukenbold , Derbyshire. Google has failed me on this . I suspect it is north of Chesterfield . Anyone recognize the location ? Nicholas Shorthose
This weeks WDYTYA episode five (I can't believe its number five already) I confess this was another subject I didn't know, Emma Willis was born in Birmingham, an ex model she is probably better known as the presenter of Big Brother which I know we are all glued to ;-) Still, must be better than last weeks ;-) -- Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK)

Hi Caren Good to hear from you Its tantamount to facebook saying *when* we cut you off, isn't it I guess if you can do it, its a way to hopefully protect yourself (if it works of course) I am still none the wiser as to why they have disabled my account, there seems little prospect of my regaining access to it It has been suggested that I create a new account but then there is no guarantee they wouldn't do the same again It seems you can spew forth bile and hate on facebook under an assumed name, but try and help others under your own name and you are blocked It seems to me to be the wrong way around, perhaps I am missing something on facebooks motives Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 02-Aug-17 2:40 PM, Caren Wilcox via DERBYSGEN wrote: > I was quite worried about Nivard’s being cut off Facebook, and filed a complaint on this side of the pond. I was quite worried about Nivard’s being cut off Facebook, and filed a complaint on this side of the pond. This morning I got directions to file the names of three to five friends whose telephone numbers I know as security back up. (The system is needlessly complicated in my opinion, but there is one. Unfortunately, clearly prospective and not retroactive to benefit Nivard.) Go to the ? at the top of FB page and see the security tab. If you go in there you will see a click to identify friends to help you if you are cut off FB. Fill in 3 to 5 names of people who are on FB and FB tells them that you are using them as security. The complexity is that each of these friends gets part of a secure entry that you compile and then use to get back into Facebook. I hope this is helpful.
