No! Incorrect See the information on the link I posted † Access to the records in the featured collections will start on 06 June and be free until 10 June, 2018 at 23:59 BST. To view these records you will need to register for free with Ancestry.co.uk with your name and email address. We will then send you a user name and password to access the records. After the free access period ends, you will only be able to view the records in the featured collections using an Ancestry.co.uk paid membership. If you find you do not get an access code using the already registered email address you use Try another that hasn't been registered before, if you don't have one, create one with Gmail, Yahoo or whoever You do *not* need credit card details Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 08/07/2018 13:51, Balloon Expeditions wrote: > it allows you to look but if you want to look into the actual record they > make you sign up with a credit card ! grh false advertising! > > Di McKee > New Zealand

Hi all I was busy with the footy and forgot to post this earlier Ancestry have a free access period 6th June to 23:59 on the 10th June BST Details on the following link https://www.ancestry.co.uk/cs/free-access -- Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK)
I used to wonder about this, but then one day my wife's uncle showed up at our doorstep and asked where he was born. His family told him he was born in Oregon, but I found his birth certificate in Oklahoma! Had his parent's name on it, so I was sure it was his. Then I found that my stepfather was born a day later than the date he had been celebrating for 65 years. I can only guess that his family thought "Oh, he was born on the night of XXX", when, in fact, it was near mid-morning on the next day. Given the nature of Human Error, I would not be surprised to find duplicate registrations. Hi Theresa Ancestrys search has been broken for quite a time I have reported it but they refuse to acknowledge there is a problem despite my supplying evidence However, your best bet is to give us some details so we can do a test search for you It may not be Derbyshire but its so quiet a certain amount of leeway is acceptable Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 06/07/2018 20:42, Theresa Goss wrote: > In using ancestry I have noticed this problem and was wondering if there is a trick I don't know. Hi Peter Where there was an error or omission in the original Such as a missing or wrong fathers name, there would be a new or changed registration Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 06/07/2018 20:40, Peter Patilla via DERBYSGEN wrote: > Good evening > I have a poser I hope someone may be able to answer > > I have a birth certificate for James Michael LEE birth date 1937 mother Winifred Gertrude (nee) Hughes > > on the bottom is written “Birth re-registered on the Authority of the Registrar General on the 6th December 1947 at Entry no 399 G.N. 20 (this copy was dated 3 Deb 2006) > > The 1947 Copy has mother as Winifred Gertrude LEE under maiden surname of mother > > I have not come such a re-registration before. I guess the original registrar made a mistake over the mother's names, or maybe mum fibbed in the first place and told the truth later? In Scotland, they have a Register of Corrected Entries, and corrections of all sorts were (probably still are) common there. In using ancestry I have noticed this problem and was wondering if there is a trick I don't know. I am searching for records of people in Northern Ireland. When I put in name possibly year and place I get records for everywhere but Ireland. Can anyone help? Get Outlook for Android<https://aka.ms/ghei36>
