Yes, you are correct. It is Salt Lake City, which houses all the microfilms of all of England's church records. I do alot of my research there, then go over to the UK and visit the churches and villages etc. Nice thing about SLC is they have machines that if the pages are bled through from ink and are illegible, you can light the pages to see them. I have found sooooo many records through this that are not indexed on LDS, Ancestry or FMP. Sorry about that! He wasnt in court when the sentence wass passed, and absconded, sailing to America on 23 Jan 1897. He had arrived back in Bakewell in 1898. I have checked the Derby Archives record site but can't find any indication that he served his sentence. Would it be likely that he had to serve his sentence when he returned, or would this be forgotten about ( he was only away for about a year) Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Hi all It appears the list archives are now working again as of the 3rd Jan 2017 at least However the last posts in the archives before that was 14th Nov 2016 Whether the posts between the 15th Nov 2016 and the 2nd Jan 2017 are ever archived remains unknown, and probably won't So if there were any posts that you require to be archived for the future you may consider reposting -- Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK)

Hi Jeanette I think Locko Grange probably refers to Locko Grange Farm which is owned by the Locko estate referred to in the previous reply. My late uncle and his brothers and sister used to farm at Home Farm in Stanley which is the next farm to Locko Grange and also owned by the Locko estate. From travelling to see my uncle and aunt as a child I remember a track off the road out of Stanley which looks like it led to Locko Grange Farm. You may also be able to see it from a public footpath – it would be worth you investigating footpaths from Locko Park. Are your Brentnalls related to the Brentnalls in Stanley? I have a One Place Study site (URL below) for Stanley and I have a number of Brentnalls in my database, though not your ancestor John. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~alanbloor/SOPS.htm (Look at section 1 of the website for a map which includes Locko Grange Farm) Have a good trip in May. Hello everyone Thank you to everyone who responded to my query re the Ipad App for FTM. I have now added the 'Ancestry' app to my Ipad, and thank you for your help. You might want to take a look at those apps if you are used to FTM. The app does say that it can move between Apple products, PCs, Androids so it may suit you very well.
