    3. 1718         Hugh George Buried 1 Mo. 26, 1718.         Richard and Jane George, ancestors of the "George's Hill" family, came to Pennsylvania in 1708.  They brought with them, ten children, viz: Edward, David, Katherine, George, Evan, John, Jane, Thomas, Hugh and Richard.*  (*Crossed out apparently by the author "Of these children Edward the eldest, settled in Radnor, 1718.)         Hugh George was witness at a wedding, 2, 10, 1717.  Joseph Eavenson, son of Thomas Eavenson, of Thornbury, Chester Co. Pa.  and Catharine George, daughter of Richard George, of Montgomeryshire, North Wales, at Merion, Wit:  Thomas and Richard Eavenson;  Edward, David, George, Evan, Richard, Hugh, Edward and Amy George. The Edward and Amy George, mentioned last, belonged to the Radnor branch of the family. This Edward George settled in Radnor township, Chester Co. (now Delaware Co.) Pa. in1718.                  Sarah William was born and died in 1718.  She was a daughter of Edward William of Blockley and Eleanor Lawrence, his wife.         10 Mo. 10, 1713-14.  Edward William, son of William Edward of Blockley; and Eleanor Lawrence, daughter of David, lat of Haverford, dec'd, at Haverford Meeting.  Witnesses, Jane and Johnn Edward;  Eleanor, Daniel, Henry, Thomad, Sarah and Ellin Lawrence; Mary William.         Eleanor Lawrence, daughter of David and Eleanor (daughter of Thomas Ellis, Registrar General), was born  5 Mo. 1686.  Birth recorded at Merion Meeting. David and Eleanor Lawrence had a son Henry Lawrence, who married (8 Mo. 29, 1713) Ellin William (daughter of Wm. ap Edward of Blockley).         John Morgan a poor man.  A charge to ye township.  7 Mo. 10, 1718.         Rowland Ellis's Tennant, 10 Mo. 14th, 1718. "Rowland Ellis & Co.", may be found on Holme's Map, 1681-3.  The tract so marked adjoins the tracts of Chris. Pennock, John Holland and John Penington & Co.  These tracts include the upper part of Lower Merion, extending nearly from what is now Bryn Mawr to Conshohocken.         Rowland Ellis was a native of Bryn Mawr, near Dolgelley, Merionethshire, Wales.  He arrived in 1686, bringing with him his eldest son, Rowland Ellis, Jr., then a boy.  Rowland, Sr., was Justice of the Peace for Merion, 1707.         Rowland Ellis also had a dau. Eleanor Ellis (b. 1685; d. 1765) who married at Merion, 4 Mo. 8, 1715, John Evans of Gwynnedd (son of Cadwallader Evan, who with his brothers Thomas, Robert and Owen settled in Gwynnedd, 1698.)  John Evans was born in Denbighshire, Wales, 1689.  He was a preacher among the Friends.  He died in 1757;  mentions in his will his daughters Jane Hubbs, Margaret, Ellen, Elizabeth; sons Rowland, John, Cadwallader.
