She was an approved minister among the Friends, and a daughter of Dr. Thomas Wynne, of Caerwys, Flintshire, Wales. Dr. Thomas Wynne was the son of Peter Wynne (who was the 5th son of Sir John Wynne of Gwyder, and Sydney, daughter of Sir William Gerard, Chancellor of Ireland.) Thomas Wynne married Martha Bultall, in 1656. She was the mother of all his children. Martha died 1670, and Thomas married (2) Elizabeth Rowden, widow, and (3) Elizabeth Mede, widow. His son-in-law, Edward Jones named his plantation in Merion, "Wynnewood", after Dr. Wynne, and his son, Jonathan his plantation in Blockley, "Wynnstay". Martha Thomas was an approved minister among the Friends. Her father, William Aubrey of Landbrode in Brecknockshire, was living in 1694. Martha was the daughter of Sir William Aubrey; the grand-daughter of Sir Edward Aubrey and Jean Haverd, his wife; the great grand-daughter of Sir William Aubrey (b. 1532) and Williford Williams, his wife. The children of Rees Thomas and Martha Aubrey, his wife were: Rees, 1693; Aubrey, "born ye 30th day, 11th Mo. ye 4th day of ye week, 1694".
