1722 David Jones, Jun'r. Blockley, 6 Mo. 22, 1722. David Jones, from Wales, was an adventurer on teh "Ship Lyon" and a "First Purchaser". He located in the Liberty Lands, afterwards called Blockley township, near the line dividing this tract from Merion. This line isn now (1910) called "City Avenue". The name of David Jones is on Reed's Map, published in 1774, to show the location of the early purchasers. Gainor Roberts, wife of John Roberts, Malster, of Pencoyd, died Feb. 20, 1722, aged 69. She was a sister of Hugh Roberts and was married to John Roberts soon after his arrival in 1683. John Robert of Merion and Gainor Robert of the same towne & Co., 1 Mo. 20, 1684, at their public meeting place. Robert Robert, son of John and Gainor, was born 12 Mo. 15, 1685. Richard Roberts, son of John and Gainor, b. 10 Mo. 18, 1687. Elizabeth Roberts, daughter of John and Gainor, b. 5 Mo. 28, 1691. Elizabeth 1691. Elizabeth Roberts, daughter of John and Gainor, b. 1 Mo. 31, 1692. The stone mansion built by John Roberts of Pencoyd, in 1683, is still standing, on the Lower Merion side of City Avenue, not far from the Schuylkill River. It was recently occupied by his descendant, George B. Roberts, President of the Penna. R. R. The witnesses at the marriage of John and Gainor Robert were Hugh Robert, Griffith Owen, John Humphrey, Rees Peters, Cadwallader Owen and Others. Gainor Roberts was a "First Purchaser", and "Adventurer on the Ship Lyon". The name of John Roberts is on Reed's Map. He is located beyound the line of Liberty Lands, in Merion.
