1714 Robert Lloyd, born 1669 in Wales, died at Merion, 3 d Mo. 29, 1714. Will proved in Philadelphia, Nov. 10, 1714. His widow Lowry, daughter of Rees John William, married Hugh Evans of Gwynnedd, at Merion Meeting House, 12th Mo. 13, 1716-17. Robert Lloyd was a brother of Thomas Lloyd of Merion, and a nephew of Thomas Lloyd, Deputy Governor of Pennsylvania. This last had a brother, Charles Lloyd. Also, a brother John Lloyd. Rees John William and Hannah Price his wife had a dau. Lowry (b. 1680; d. 11, 25, 1762, in Phila, aged over 80.) Lowry married (1) Oct 1, 1698, Robert Lloyd; (2) Hugh Evans. Howell, Edward Jones, John Roberts, Griffith Owen and Daniel Humphrey, 409 acres of land that had been part of the Thomas Ellis tract. David Lewis, Servant of Morris Llewellin, buried 8 Mo. 9, 1714. "Servand" here means a holder of "head Land". A purchaser of a large tract of land was allowed a certain number of acres as "head land", for members of his family and "servant". Every large proprietor brought over a number of single young men, mostly his nephews and cousins, as "servants" so that they might get the land rather than strangers. On Susquehanna list, 1696. James Wynne, son of Jonathan Wynne, 8 Mo. 24, 1714. Jonathan Wynne, only son of Dr. Thomas Wynne, resided at "Wynnstay", in Blockley township, Philadelphia County. The homestead is still standing. The Wynne property is now partly included in the new suburb of "Wynnefield." Jonathan Wynne built the stone mansion at "Wynnstay", about 1700, on the site of a still older log building. He was the son of Dr. Thomas Wynne and Mary Buttall, his first wife. (married 1656.) Dr. Thomas Wynne was the son of Peter Wynne, of Caerwys, who was the son of Sir John Wynne of Gwydie House, and Sydney Gerard, his wife. William ap Edward died Jan, 3, 1714. Will proved in Philadelphia, Jan. 29, 1714. He was an "Adventurer" in the "Ship Lyon". Died in Blockley township, Philadelphia Co. He was variously called William ap Edward, William Edward and William Bedward. He left one son, Edward William, born in Blockley, 6 Mo. 7, 1689; and several daughters. The first wife of William ap Edward was Katherine, daughter of Robert ap Hugh, and sister of Hugh Roberts. His second wife was Jane ap Edward (maiden name.) The children of William ap Edward assumed the surname of William or Williams. William ap Edward had two brothers, John ap Edward and Evan ap Edward, early settlers in Penna. And these were the sons of Edward ap John, of Landerval, near Bala, or Penllyn, Merionethshire, in North Wales. Another brother, Thomas ap Edward remained in Wales.
