Would have prefered the 'New Style" religion of the 2nd Presbyterian Church to the "Old Style" of Philadelphia's 1st Presbyterian church. I think. Rev Samuel Finley,'New Style" President of Princeton, and formerly, with his brother,James, and nephew,Rev John Evans Finley, ministers at the Nottingham churches, died on a Philadelphia visit, and was buried beneath the floor of the 2nd Presbyterian. James and Samuel toured with George Whitefield,in 1741. I read that Whitefield had such a booming voice, that he could be preaching a couple blocks from the Delaware River,in Philadelphia, and that he could be heard across the Delaware,in NJ.
