He died Intestate and Administration of his estate granted to Susana Piper, John Meris and John McCoole, who, on 20 Jul 1773 rendered account to Orphans Court. On 15 Sept., a lot of marsh and one of upland exposed to public auction. The two lots sold to ISAAC HYAT [sic] for the sum of 49 pounds 18 shillings 4 pence. The marsh lies on the South side of Augustine Creek near Wolf Island. It bounds marsh formerly of Paul Barns, lot formerly of Jacob Gooding, Esq., dec'd, and marsh of Gertrude Rothwell containing 5 acres 27 perches. James Piper of Kent Co. for the sum of 83 pounds 15 shillings sold unto William Read of St. George's Hd. in Co. of New Castle two lots of Marsh situate on the South side of Augustine Creek near Wolf Island.
