REQUESTING RECORDS I ahve searched at the Archives many times. You state New Castle, Delaware. Are you referring to New Castle County, Delaware or New Castle, New Castle County, Delaware? Also if you are searching for Vital Records, some births, deaths and marriages are not on certificates but in "registers". For example, Wilmington, Delaware kept records in registers, this is just a recording of these vitals. The many not necessarily be a birth, marriage or death certificate but a "record" only on the register. I have looked at some of these registers. Some are so beautifully written and microfiled clearly, some look like the chickens scratched them very lightly and not only are hard to decipher their handwriting but too light to read. The Archives will do some lookups for a small fee by email. Try to give them all the info you can. Hope this helps. Feel free to contact me if I can give you any more information.
