Hi - Perhaps you have already gone this route, but if not, here is what works in New England: Start with the current owner's deed and work backward. Who sold him the property? Then check his deed to learn the identity of the previous owner. And so on, back to the original grantee. In some instances, the transfer of ownership my have been by inheritance, and it will be necessary to consult probate records. It's fun! Good luck! Isabel
