    3. My mother purchased quite a Carte de Visite album. A Carte de Visite is essentially a calling card with a picture on it. Anyway, it's a rather large album full of pictures. It is postmarked from Ganton, York Aug 29 1902. 1902 Aug 28 Dear Wife and Children hoping this will find you well and I am ????rate but home sick. We got to Liverpool at 7 a m yesterday took train for leasbro at 9 o clock train stopped at Ganton got off at 1 pm am staying at the greyhound inn. the family is a sort of connection it is George Clarkson widow and children a young man and woman 2nd cousins to our family their father was a nephew of g mother Banks. went to Beinnington last night every for awhile. stayed with and old friend until 10 pm then walked back I find several old school mates saw my old home and i am going again to moror visited another this morning he used to be vary high toned but greeted me cordially stayed for dinner had a nice time will tell my impressions when I com back. inspected the old schoolhouse this afternoon it is used as an implement shed by a blacksmith it is 15 x 18 feet. they have built another a larger one they are just about to start jarvest had some little grain cut most of is very green yet in a very heavy crop! and badly down, have been to the post office the letter I wronte I maled had not been answered yet shall probably stay in this vicinity until after sunday cam across a nephew of aunt Diane he says his grandmother is living will got to see she is 92 she walks to Scarbro 4 miles once a week. Others in the picture include Edith Le Fevre, Jennie Blackburn, Ella King, Ethel Boss, Anna Megginson, Mabel Downward, Eva Downward, Ora Nichols, Anna Foster, Marian Longham, Elizabeth Le Fevre, Katie King, Mary McKay, George Kine, Jesse McKay, Theodore Blackburne, Mary Blackburne now Mrs. Theodore Cavender, California, Iva Jones, Charles Grier, Ephraim Sutton, James Torens, George Poole, Orville Nichols, Anna McKay, Ed Megginson, Bessie Cauffman, John Cauffman, Eugene Luff, Iva Jone, Thomas Grier, Howard Suttong, William Megginson, Harry Willis, Leonard Willis. The above etching shows the teacher and pupils at the front of the Rose Hill School. It was taken shortly before the school building was destroyed by fire about thirty-five years agoand the present little frame building was then erected. There is another letter on the letterhead of The American Line S. S. Haverford dated Aug 25 192 at sea. It's a rather boring letter with specifics about the trip and miles traveled each day, how long the ship is and stuff like that. I won't transcribe it.
