In St Geroge's Hundred, Spencer S HOLTEN (aka 'Holton,' 1804 - 1870) married Mary Anne ELIASON, at least before 1830. Mary Anne was d/o William ELIASON. In 1840 census, St George's Hundred, New Castle Co., DE. Males -5 two; 10-15 one; 30-40 one; Females 5-10 one; 10-15 one; 30-40 one. One son was Spencer Sewell HOLTON (1836-1923), who married Mary Frances ELLISON (1839-1928; d/o Curtis Bennet ELLISON and Margaret Elizabeth BELVILLE). He was probably "S.S. Holten" listed as Town Commissioner for Middletown, St George's Hundred, in 1877 and 1884 (see Scharf, History of Delaware, 1609-1888. Volume Two- pp. 981-1015.
