    1. Re: [NewCastle] Historical Research
    2. As per "Bi-centenary Memorial of JEREMIAH CARTER Who Came to the Province of Pennsylvania in 1682" by THOMAS MAXWELL POTTS published in Canonsburg, PA, in 1883, I have: ROBERT CLOUD (b. 2-2-1722/23, DE; d. 4-2-1901, DE) who married MAGDELEN PETERSON (b. 7-14-1729, DE, d. 12-8-1779, DE). Their daughter: MARGARET CLOUD (b. 6-11-1753; d. 10-20-1827) married JOSEPH CARTER (b. 11-17-1749, PA, prob. at Cartersville, Chester Co.; d. 2-2-1830). Both Margaret and Joseph Carter were buried at Mount Hope Methodist Episcopal Church, west of Village Green in Aston Township, PA. I wonder, does MAGDELEN PETERSON fits into any of your Peterson lines? Other than her name as the wife of ROBERT CLOUD and mother of MARGARET CLOUD, I have nothing on her. If she does fit into anyone's family, while I have nothing on her, I have a good bit about some of Margaret's descendants that I could share. I'd love to trade data! I think once we connect our Peterson to a family I will delve deeper into the research of Chester County. For now I think I'll hit the Delaware Co. Library and go from there, luckily both the library and the Chester Co. Historical Society are open on Saturdays so I'll probably hit the historical society next Saturday. My Robert Peterson ended up in Batavia, Clermont County in 1820 (was in census). His family was the only Peterson family that lived in Batavia. I just found a deed from Robert and his wife to Ephraim Barnes dated June of 1819 at the Salem County Courthouse. Teri Chester Co. However, with Petersons, you'll likely go earlier. 1638-56 was New Sweden,on the Delaware, and then, the Dutch had 2 colonies 1656-1664.[and 1667] The English , ruling from 1664,minus part of 1667, had a court at Upland,as Chester town was then called. The Swedes had multiple Peters sons. As did New Netherlands. There are also Swedish Lutherian >Episcopal church records. In what township in my Clermont Co,Ohio did your [Thomas?] Peterson live? Dr Peter Stebbens Craig,D.D. is an expert on the early Swedes. "1693 Swedes on the Delaware" is one of his books. My Swedish Justice's moved in 1805 from n Swedesboro,sw NJ TO Behel,Tate Twnsp,Clermont Co,Ohio where Savil Justice,in 1824, married another part Swede,Ruhama Blackman [Stille-Steelman] Bethel,Oh's Tom Luce,is of George Peterson, who moved from Pleasant Mills,
