Hi Kathy: Had a look at information sent to me from a researcher from random acts of genealogical kindness (RAOGK): He found in the book of deeds - May 27, 1915 John Russell and Nellie G. Russell purchased from Anna Morrison, widow of William E. Morrison, the property and buildings in Penns Grove. In the description, he says it appears that it was at Delaware Ave. and Pitman St. Then John Russell sold this property in March 1944 to LeRoy McCarson. He said that he saw that the McCarsons sold several properties in 1956 but he ran out of time to look each one up to see if this was one of them. Does this help you recognize which property this was? There are more than one large houses there. Also there were MANY more small houses years ago.Bortons Beach, Risners Row etc. The whole area between Delaware Avenue & the river was called the NORTH SHORE and the other side of West Main Street was called the SOUTH SHORE.There was a Delaware Drive in the South Shore. > I also found the following Russells in the DuPont Company records: Ann , James G., Mary, Matthew, & Robt. > Kathy > >
