    1. Re: [NewCastle] Historical Research
    2. Thanks for all of the information. Sara and Dean below were my Petersons. Samuel Winner, who married Sarah, was also mentioned numerous times in various papers for my Peterson's when they moved to Pike County, Illinois. Robert Peterson had two wives. The first marriage, Catherine Simpkins (NJ), had Dean, Ezekial and Martha Peterson. The second marriage, Elizabeth ? (DE), had George (my ggg grandfather), William, Sarah, and Robert. We're trying to connect all of the children without a doubt and I know that Robert Peterson was the only Peterson living in Batavia, even though Williamsburgh is only about 5 miles away with the other Petersons. Does anyone know when the other Peterson's moved into the Clermont County area? Answering this question could help tremendously. Robert died about 1834 in Batavia but we haven't been able to locate a grave for him and it seems that all the cemeteries have been walked through and documented. Robert also was a "tenant" to land or a building in Tate Township the same time he had land in Batavia. Not sure what this means at this point. I would still like to go back to Batavia and just browse the courthouse, all of the cemeteries, etc. I couldn't find much when I went to the Library back in November.
