Hello, I am new to this list and I know there were Shoults' in Newcastle in the late 1700's as their wills were probated there. My mother's maiden name was Shoults and I am trying to find out where they came from originally. Our first one was Charles and he was married to Drusilla Howard, they both are buried in Ross County, Ohio. One of their children was born in Rockingham County, VA, his name was John b. Oct 21, 1781 and I have two more children listed for them but as we all know they had large families so I know I am missing a few. I know that they spoke German for quite some time but were bilingual and I would love to find a tie with some other families. One of the wills was for Conrad Shoults and Conrad was my grandfather's middle name so hopefully there will be a connection there. Any help would certainly be appreciated.
