Hi Anita, The probate record is just an inventory of his goods and money owed to him by Dupont (no real estate). The only name mentioned is George Welsh (and this is very hard to read it might not be Welsh) who owed John $100. Quite a bit of money back then. I don't think this is the same family. Am I pretty sure this John Welsh arrived from Ireland about 1808. John, I agree with you. I do not think this is the same family. I looked at the dates again in the records of the Old Swedes Church. My John was baptized in 1767. In 1815 he would have been ca 48, not 28. I sure wish I could find just one Elliott family that connected to mine. Thanks for the info. and good luck in your research.
