    3. This really needs to stop. While the original sender has apologized for inadvertently sending it to the list in the first place, those who are responding don't understand the inappropriateness of posting something like this to a genealogical site. You're taking up far too much band width for something that needs to be addressed privately. ----- Original Message ----- From: "ann morris" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, January 13, 2003 5:29 PM Subject: Re: [NewCastle] (no subject) : : : Darlene Hitchens <[email protected]> wrote: : It will be interesting to see who responds! 3. After many years of researching the Weir/Wier/Ware/Weer name of Cecil Co, I am ready to put my history in the historical societies of Cecil Co and DE. My own family moved from Cecil Co to Wilmington in the mid-1800s. I have found many who are not connected to me, and I have tried to keep careful records on them. If anyone has information you would like to compare with mine, or if you need help on your line, please email me as soon as possible. Cathy

    1. [NewCastle] LAMPLUGH
    2. Good morning list, I very curious about this child Williet LAMPLUGH being buried at St. Martin's Cemetery in Marcus Hook, Delaware Co., PA. LAMPLUGH, Williet Son of Edward - Sabier LAMPLUGH Born 25 Dec 1693, Died 19 Apr 1694 Walter MARTIN did not deed the land for the church until 1699. This child is buried there 6 years prior to that date. Was there a cemetery on this land before the church? Did the Finns & Swedes use this as a cemetery before the English? I'm not familiar with the origin of the surname LAMPLUGH -- could anyone give me some background on it? I'm, also, not familiar with the given names Williet & Sabier -- could anyone tell me there origin? On a map -- Settlements on the 1638 Delaware River Valley Map of the Colony of New Sweden -- what today is "Marcus Hook" was then place called "Finland." Is there anyone doing research on Finns that would have settled in this area? Many thanks for any help or info! :) Happy hunting, Helen (DCGS)

    3. I hope you will not mind my adding something to this e-mail. Some of the VanDerVeer(may be a little different spelling) family married into one of my lines. Several of the family married the Beeson (Beason) children. Also, several of them are mentioned in a book I have. It is the church records of the Old Swedes (Trinity) Church in Wilmington, Delaware. Several members of this family were buried in the Church yard of the Newark Friends Church. I will check my records if you will advise which family members you are looking for. 2. Thanks Faith. That could have been me. We found that Vandeventer is the name we finally are looking for and thanks to Donna Morgan, we may have found our Abigail Vandeventer who married Abel Morgan. Originally she had been reported in many gedcoms as being Abigail Vandivooter. No one apparently checked to see if she was a real person. When we did, we found Vandivooter is not a name recognized anywhere in the world. So we started to explore other options and now we appear to have an accurate Vandeventer. But if it was me you were thinking of, I really appreciate the thought and the effort.
