My great grandfather's name was Silas Demers(Demarais) born around 1870 in Canada (Quebec). My grandfather was born in Gouvernour, N.Y. I thought that maybe they were visiting relatives when my grand father was born. I found this to be the case when my grandfather's sister was born in Minnesota and thought that might be the situation for my grandfather as well. They lived in Michigan most of their lives. I do not have any information on my great grandfather's parents or siblings except that he may have had a brother named Edward, not sure of the spelling though.
