Gagne, 69, of Old Route 27 Road, went to be with her heavenly father Friday, April 3, 2009, after an extended illness. She was born Dec. 16, 1939, in Augusta, the daughter of Armand Demers and Rose Helen (Rodrigue) Demers. Joyce graduated from Marie Joseph Academy, Biddeford Pool, Class of 1957. Prior to her retirement, she was co-owner of Gagne & Son Concrete Products and Gagne Fuel for 40 years. Joyce was a communicant of St. Augustine Catholic Church and a fervent member of the Calumet Club. She was the co-chairperson of the Calumet Club's Festival de la Bastille in 2006 and 2008. Even before that, she and her late husband, Albert "Pete" Gagne, were devoted supporters of the festival. She was also a member of Cushnoc Senior Citizens. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She made everyone she met feel like family. Joyce was predeceased by her parents; and her husband, Pete. Surviving are three daughters, Linda Gagne of Readfield and h! er significant other, David Flanagan, of Appleton, Theresa Gagne and her fiance, Paul Tardif, of Sidney and Lisa Gagne Sengendo and her husband, Stanley, of Belgrade; two sons, Fred J. Gagne and his wife, Vicki, of Bangor and Albert "Peter" Gagne and his wife, Linda, of Belgrade; one sister, M. Rita Lalemand of Randolph; 10 grandchildren, Brandon, Caitlyn, Sean, Aaron, Elijah, Alexis, Taneya, Noah, Isaiah and Iyana; several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family thanks all the staff at the Harold Alfond Cancer Center; Maine General Medical Center, Augusta; Home Hope and Healing and all her special caregivers. A very special thank you to Dr. James Brassard and Dr. Ramon Cheleuitte for their exceptional care and devotion to our mother. Visiting hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 6, at Plummer Funeral Home, 16 Pleasant St., Augusta. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Northern Avenue, Augusta. Spr! ing burial will be at Holy Family Cemetery, Augusta.
