I've "rescued" an old photograph of Victoria DEMERS which was taken at the G. L. Demers Studio in Argyle, Minnesota. The photograph was likely taken in the 1890's or early 1900's with Victoria appearing to be in her 20's or 30's at the time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding Victoria and her family: Victoria Concord DESSELLIER b. 26 Jul 1865 in Gentilly, Quebec, Canada to parents Calixte DESSELLIER (b. 16 Jun 1817 in Gentilly, Canada) and Olive-Marie LAROUX (b. 5 Sept 1825 in Gentilly, Canada). Victoria married George Louis DEMERS (b. 5 Oct 1870 in North Adams, MA) on 30 Apr 1890 in Terrebone, MN and together they had 6 children including, Mary; Izella Louise; Alvenia Concord; Lina Marie; George Louis; and Phileas Louis DEMERS. The children were all born in Terrebone, MN between 1894 and 1906. Victoria DESSELLIER DEMERS died in St. Paul MN on 8 Nov 1943 and is buried there. I am hoping to locate someone from the family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley
Forgive me if this is a double post, but I am having issues with my outgoing mail server. Shelly, Victoria and G.L. DeMers are my Great Grand parents, My Grandmother is Alvenia. My dresser is covered with old photos that my GGF took of the family, but I have none of Victoria. Please, I would absolutely love to have that photo. Contact me at jmbrickley@cox.net I am having problems with my sdcoe accountt and sending mail on it may be an issue thank you in advance, John Brickley On Jan 13, 2009, at 8:24 AM, Shelley Cardiel wrote: > I've "rescued" an old photograph of Victoria DEMERS which was taken at > the > G.
