He had at least two children, Emma De Mers(born 1847 in New York) and Walter DeMers (born in Canada). Emma married Andrew (Anders) G. Anderson(born Sweden 1840) around 1865. Andrew was a Civil War veteran, was imprisoned at Andersonville and during the 1880s became a State Senator. They lived in Carver, Minnesota until Emma's death in 1927. Walter, my great-grandfather, married Carrie I. Kellogg and they were living in Minneapolis, Minnesota by 1880. They had three children, Elizabeth (b.1880), Ralph (b.1882)and Helen (b. 1884). Elizabeth was my grandmother. Walter died in the late 1880s. I would be grateful for any information. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I find the name similarities on this just too uncanny. My husband's family has a Waldo St John Demers. He was born in Brunswick, Rensselear County, New York July 09, 1892. His father was Joseph Demers born March 1858 in NY. His mother was Sarah Murphy. Joseph Demer's mother was name Emeline Unknown & his father Marrie Demers born in France. I am not sure if there is a connection or not but the names caught my eye.
