DeMers, son of Stephen DeMers, born in NY. He came to Carver, MN with his parents & siblings before 1857 as the family appears on the MN Territorial Census. He joined to fight in the Civil War and quickly gained rank of Captain. He was well known Grand Forks, MN and a street there is named after him. He married Alice Morrison, daughter of a prominent St. Paul pioneer, Wilson C. Morrison. Frank had 6 sisters, Carrie, Sophia, Sarah, Emma, Mary-Elizabeth and Emma. He had two brothers, Walter & Louis. I don't know the ancestry of Francis/Frank's father but he was born in Quebec. I have a picture of Frank. I would be happy to share info. K.
