He would have been in the Ottawa, Ontario area around 1927. He was with a woman by the name of Annie Last. They had a child together out of wedlock (my grandmother). Annie told Henri that the baby had died but obviously she didn't. She was then adopted to Peter and Maggie Beaupre of Ottawa. We found out through our research that Annie's aunt, Elsie Last, lived next door to the Beaupre's. All I know from my grandmother is that his name was Henri Demers Proulx and his family owned a car dealership (doesn't make sense to me but I'm putting it in anyways in case some bells ring) I'm looking for any information you may have. My 3rd great-grandmother was Elise Gaudreau Demers, born abt. 1874 in Somersworth. Her parents were Augustus Demers and Adelarde. I don't know much more about them. All I know is that Augustus died before 1889 and Adelarde died after 1889. Elise died around 1899. DeMers, son of Stephen DeMers, born in NY. He came to Carver, MN with his parents & siblings before 1857 as the family appears on the MN Territorial Census. He joined to fight in the Civil War and quickly gained rank of Captain. He was well known Grand Forks, MN and a street there is named after him. He married Alice Morrison, daughter of a prominent St. Paul pioneer, Wilson C. Morrison. Frank had 6 sisters, Carrie, Sophia, Sarah, Emma, Mary-Elizabeth and Emma. He had two brothers, Walter & Louis. I don't know the ancestry of Francis/Frank's father but he was born in Quebec. I have a picture of Frank. I would be happy to share info. K.
