I believe her fathers name was Joseph DEMERS (born in Canada). She has a 1/2 brother named Arthur DELISLE born in 1901, who lived in NH, and died in San Bernadino, CA. Any leads would be helpful. Fr. Tanguay did a wonderful job with the resources he had, but when evidence was lacking, he guessed, and sometimes guessed wrong. Michel Demers dit Dumais and Marguerite Gagnon only had two daughters. His second marriage in 1739 to Marie Anne Gingras yielded 8 children. However only one, Thomas Louis, b 1848, comes close to what we are seeking here, and he couldn't have married in 1752. Rene Demers dit Dumais and Marie Madeleine Lavoie had at least 9 children, of whom Louis, b. Feb 4 1728, was the youngest. He married Marie Anne Martel dit Lamontagne on Oct 2 1752 at Ste-Croix, Lotbiniere, QC.
