They were also related distantly. For Joseph Marie b. 1754 in St. Nicolas, Levis, Quebec. m Oct. 10, 1774 in St. Nicolas to Marguerite Demers b. Mar 10, 1753, in St. Nicolas. I have for their son Louis-Augustin Demers b. abt 1782 in Quebec, m July 28, 1807 St. Nicolas to Marie-Josette Hoffman-Molleur b abt 1787 Quebec Provence, d in Quebec. If you need more info please e-mail me. I do go back as far as 1525 in Autretot, Normandy, France. So I would have to say, that we are related way back. So Hi cuz. Rosalie

Surnames: Demers Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/JBS.2ACEB/312 Message Board Post: Looking for information on my grandfather .. my grandmother's second husband... I have very little to go on. This is the sum total of all my data after 4 years of searching: Joseph Noel Demers was a widower with 3 children when he married my grandmother, Aline (Galarneau) Houle, also a widow with 4 children. The marriage intention was published 27 Jul 1940 in Lowell,MA papers. He lived in Lowell, MA most of his life. His first wife was Eglantine. She died in May 1933. I vaguely remember his birthday was either Christmas or around it, accounting for his middle name, but I have no clue in what year he was born, or where. He was a machinist for the Boston and Maine RR. His children that I knew as "Uncle/aunt" even if they were not blood relatives: Raymond, Reina, and Fernand. Were there others? He had at least one brother: Cyrille P Demers who married Marie Alma Soulard in 1946. I don't believe this last couple had any children. Cyrille played the fiddle. He also had 2 sisters who went off to California and joined the convent. Would like to find - date & place of birth, his parents' names - date of death (in Lowell, after 1962), - date & place of his first marriage - date of marriage to my grandmother I don't have access to Census info, but that might be a starting point if someone can help. THANKS!!! in advance

My husband's third Greatgrandmother Henrietta Raby, married a unknown Demers.about 1830 give or take some years. They were either married, I am assuming in the Ottawa area. Possibly at the Notre-Dame de I'lle Church in Hull Quebec near Ottawa is not far from Hull And Thurso. This is french speaking area Iand I do not speak French )This is where my Mother-in-law, her mother, her mother and her mother were born and married At least in this area. There is a town in England named Raby. It is possible that the Raby family originated in France then migrated or the otherway around. Because there is a Castle called Raby. It is very ausentatious. Just put Raby Castle in your search box. It is quite beautiful. I just got Henrietta's name in the last couple of weeks. Their daughter Julie, married a Augustin Boileau dit LAFLEUR in the same area. And their daughter ,Georgiana Lafleur married :Hildege Groulx and their daughter, Adrienne married Wilbrod Prud'homme. If this information is connected to your research. I left out my mother-in-law on purpose. so please let me know if anmy one else out there follows this tree. i am having a reunion in July of the Prud'homme and Groulx families. So anything more information I can get will be great. Please write to me at: j.ann audet@att.net Thank you J. Ann Audet
