Demers, died Aug. 21, 2002, at Fletcher Allen Health Care Center in Burlington, Vt. Mary suffered a brain aneurysm while riding a motorcycle, resulting in an accident causing sever head trauma. She died as a result of the injuries sustained from the accident. Mary was born on March 30, 1950, in Ogdensburg, N.Y. She is the daughter of George and Therese Bruyere. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Ogdensburg and D’Youville College in Buffalo, N.Y. Mary was very active in her community. She volunteered her time for organizing work place activities, her children’s sporting events and several other philanthropic and social events. Mary is survived by her husband of 30 years, Peter J. Demers. She has three children, Aimee E. Demers, a doctor of physical therapy in Atlanta, Ga., Christopher A. Demers, a project manager in Plattsburgh, N.Y., and Nicole M. Demers, a student of Architecture at Syracuse University. Also surviving Mary are her parents, George and Therese Bruyere of Ogdensburg, N.Y.; and three brothers, Paul Bruyere of Morristown, N.Y., and Tom and Bill Bruyere of Ogdensburg, N.Y. Demers, 81, of Prospect Street, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, at Cedar Hedge Nursing Home, with her loving husband and family by her side. Catherine was born on June 15, 1921, in Ramsbottom, Lancashire, England. She was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Lomax) Dunne, also of Ramsbottom. Catherine is survived by her devoted husband of over 27 years, Paul A. Demers. Paul and Catherine were married on Dec. 7, 1972. He was her best friend. Her four children also survive her, Mr. and Mrs. Guy (Mary Jo Ferris) Juneau, Mr. and Mrs. Peter (Patricia Ferris) Beebie, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Ferris and Mr. and Mrs. Leland (Rev. She was also a member of the Daughters of the British Empire. There she met her first husband, Ernest Norman Ferris, who was an American soldier stationed in England. He predeceased her on Oct. 1, 1972. Catherine loved to cook for her family and also loved gardening. She took great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and teaching her granddaughters how to knit and crochet. She was a member of the Three Steeples United Methodist Church. Calling hours will be on Thursday, Aug. 29, 2002, from 1 to 3 p.m., with a service and burial immediately following. Arrangements are with MB Clark Funeral Home in Champlain. The Champlain Knights of Columbus will host a dinner after the ceremonies. I do know that all of my grandparents after them were married in Trois Rivieres Quebec St. Pierre Les Besquets.
