    3. I'm very sorry about your great uncle's death. My father passed away last month and he was the last of his siblings and the only one left who could tell me anything. I certainly wish that I would have paid more attention. With Sympathy. I was planning to go by and visit with my Great Uncle Lester DeLoach during the first week of this month. Had some specific questions to ask about where his grandparents were buried, etc. (his mother's parents). TOO LATE - he passed on a few days before I began my trip. His memory was sharp and I was told that he was very alert right up to the last. Worse yet, his oldest son says he probably did have the information we wanted. The obituary is below. Later, Tim Carter from The Shreveport Times, July 2, 1999: Lester G. DeLoach SHREVEPORT, LA - Mr. Lester G. DeLoach, 94, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 1999 after a brief illness. Visitation will be held at Osborn Funeral Home on Friday, July 2, 1999 from 5 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will begin on Saturday, July 3rd at Springs of Grace Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Rex Blankenship, pastor of Springs of Grace Baptist Church and by Rev. Don Fletcher; retired pastor of Broadacres Baptist Church. Mr. DeLoach was born March 19, 1905 the youngest of 12 children in Haynesville, LA and was a resident of Shreveport for over 50 years. He was a member of Springs of Grace Baptist Church. He was the owner of DeLoach Cleaning Supplies and in his early career he owned Mercantile Stores in Minden, Haynesville, and Homer. Mr. DeLoach was preceded in death by his parents, John and Betty DeLoach; and his son, Lester Archie DeLoach. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Verna Lee; one daughter, Barbara Craig and husband, Ronnie of Shreveport; two sons, Robert Earl DeLoach and wife, Sandi of Waconia, Minnesota, and Dennis DeLoach and wife, Mary Beth of Shreveport; grandchildren Lisa, Karen, Robert, Andrea, Diane, Lester, Mike, Jason, Leslie, Robin, David, Rebecca and Elizabeth; a host of great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to his great-grandson John Kay; his sitter Brenda Loud; and Dr. Germaine Cassiere. ___________________________________________________________________ Get the Internet just the way you want it.
