WILLIAM, JUDGE HARRY DELOACH'S BOOK WAS THE SOURCE OF MY INFO. REGARDING THE ACQUISTION OF THE PROPERTY FOR DELOACH'S CHURCH,HOWEVER, THERE WERE TWO DELOACH CHURCHES AND THEREFORE, DANIEL E.JONES MAY HAVE GIVEN SOME OF THE LAND. WAS HE A RELATIVE, ALSO? I DO NOT HAVE MY RECORDS HERE IN TEXAS BUT WILL TRY TO REMEMBER TO LOOK THIS UP WHEN I GET BACK HOME TO ALABAMA. PLEASE KEEP ME INFORMED OF UPDATES REGARDING SAME. THANK YOU. SINCERELY, JEAN DELOACH MYRICK GOBER
Dear Jean, Thanks for writing back, and so quickly. Daniel E. Jones wasn't a relative of the DeLoaches, but I do know that he sold his 1/2 interest in 4100 acres to John Calvin DeLoach in 1836. I was pondering if that was that was the way that he "donated" land for the church and cemetery, but I wasn't sure. Daniel was a wealthy landowner in the area before he moved to Lumpkin County in the 1840s. Thanks for the help, William scott
