In the book "Some Historical Families of South Carolina" by Frampton Erroll Elllis located at the South Caroliniana Library at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, S. C. on pages 4 and 5 he shows that Michael DeLoach and his wife, Dorcas, at least 6 children. The first child was David (1752-1815) who named one of his 3 sons, Redding Cannon DeLoach (this is the man that my husband is descending from). David's sister was Patience DeLoach who married Redding Cannon. From this I would assume that David named his son Redding Cannon after his sister's husband. Hope this helps you a little.
