    3. Wanda, how you, we met Cecil & Christine at DeLoach Vineyards in the mid 80's on a side trip to the wine country for a sales meeting in San Francisco. He got started buying & planting vineyards while he was a fireman in S F, thus the name Hook and Ladder for the latest venture. Friends of ours went there in early August & bought me 4 bottles for my birthday. I tried to save them for special occasions but to no avail. My friend says son Michael is pretty much running the business. Hope all is well with you. Life is good in Pasadena (Tx.), Garland. ----- Original Message ---- From: Wanda Harbert <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, December 17, 2007 4:53:38 PM Subject: Re: [DELOACH] DeLoach Vineyards Poster I knew he sold the DeLoach Vuineyards but did not know he owns Hook and Ladder Vineyard. 3. Hi Wanda, the DeLoach Vineyards was sold to an international company a few years ago. I am not familiar with "Hook and Ladder" wine. Maybe it is one of the new ones since the sale. The winery is at 1791 Olivet Road, Santa Rosa, CA 95401 - several miles out from Santa Rosa. I met Cecil, the founder, some years ago, He was born in 1937 in Montgomery, AL. Although the DeLoach Chardonnay was served at my son's wedding twenty-two years ago, I must confess that I stick with "Two Buck Chuck" from Trader Joe's! 3. Today, we learned the identity of the person listed as Result 2 on the last SMGF update. He is Jim DeLoach, a descendant of Andrew Jackson DeLoach and his wife Nancy Elizabeth Smith. The information has been incorporated in he DeLoach DNA Results Page: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~javan/desloges/dna/results/results.htm We now have enough results to start looking at the participants' ancestry to see where they actually have a common ancestor. When we find that are participants with a common, near term ancestor, we will start grouping them accordingly. Mike
