    3. Hi Everyone, J. Mike Durrence showed me how to read the census information that he had sent, and the correct numbers had been right before my eyes all along. Dear me. 3. Hi Everyone, J. Mike Durrence contributed some census records for Tattnall County. His source for the 1830 and 1840 records had some numbers that were completely out of whack, so those numbers have been replaced with x's until they can be verified. If anyone has a copy of those records and can provide the right numbers, we would all appreciate it. In the meantime, the records may be found at: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~javan/desloges/records/census/tattcens.htm He also contributed some marriage records for Tattnall County, which have been added to the existing page at: http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~javan/desloges/records/marriages/tattnall.htm Mike

    2. Lynette I noticed the name Bruce Dubberly on your list. He and his wife were dear friends to my in-laws Netherae and James "Duke" Harvey. They played bridge together often. I knew them also through my husband James Deloach Harvey. Mother Harvey was a Deloach, youngest child of Asa Washington Deloach. They lived in Glennville, Ga. Mother Harvey's grandmother was a Durrance before she married. My husband is or was "kin" to almost everyone in Glennville, and to many in the area. Regards, Kathryn

    3. Roy, a quick review of my records does not come up with a William DeLoach born in 1815 in S.C. I will do further research of my records and let you know what I find. I, too, am looking for a William DeLoach who was reportedly (according to my father's Bible) the father of my great grandmother, Rebecca Jane DeLoach, who was born in Old Beaufort District (now Hampton County) S.C. on April 25th, 1828. There was a William DeLoach born in 1728 and died in Old Beaufort District in 1790. He was the son of William DeLoach Jr. (1702-1765) and Judith Wall (1707-1760) in S.C. but I cannot find any further info on that particular William. There are many William DeLoaches in early S.C. history. I'll let you know if I find anything further. Charlie Roy H. 2. I had a great great grandmother named Lurana Deloach (b. 1820) who married Andrew Josiah Beall(or Bell) in Upson Co., Ga. before moving to Russell and Chambers Co., Ala. Andrew and Lurana Beall had eleven children. Their daughter Elizabeth married a Jesse Deloach (probably her cousin). I are trying to find descendants of Jesse and Elizabeth. I know they married in Russell Co., Al. 11 Nov. 1863. I found and 1880 Tallapoosa Co., Ala. census with a Jesse and Elizabeth Deloach but I am not sure that this is my Jesse and Elizabeth. I need to go find the 1870 census. Also, I do have old letters from Jesse and Elizabeth dated 1893 from Decatur (Fulton Co., Ga.) that mentions that their mother was in poor health but managed to survive the trip from Ala. I have not been able to find any more census or any more information on this couple but I believe you Alonzo descends from this Jesse. Please keep me informed. Hopefully you can help me do some census work. Virginia Bell Clements Tuttle

I wonder if by some coincidence (or no coincidence) she comes down from the BROWNS who married the DeLOACHES (and my MALLORYS) who went to Upson Co., GA? I know BROWN is a very common surname, but wouldn't that be funny if they turned out to be cousins? Thanks again, John Mallory LAND Dallas, TX

I was first introduced to the DeLoach wines about 15 years ago when my daughter sent me a label from a bottle of DeLoach wine which she had discovered in a restaurant. My wife and I subsequently visited the DeLoach winery in Sonoma Valley. Cecil nor his son, Michael, were available but we talked with Michael's wife. She advised that Cecil descended from the Georgia DeLoaches (Hardy DeLoach line who moved to Georgia from Beaufort District , S.C.) She was the first person to tell me about Judge DeLoach's book. We bought several bottles of the wine and found them superb. We keep a small stock on hand. They are always good conversation piece and our guests and family are very fond of their wines. They do not ship outside of California except to certain suppliers, but we note that in recent years that their wines are more prevalent in restaurants in the East. Mike, we met through E-mail several months ago when I sent you info on my line from Hampton County (Old Beaufort District) S. 3. Hi Everyone, Teri posted this on the DeLoach GenConnect Query Board: NAME: Teri DeLoache EMAIL: tdeloache@aol.com SURNAMES: DeLoache, DeLoach DATE: Jun 29 1999 QRYTEXT: I am trying to find my line of the Deloache family and I haven't had much luck. My father was Charles Clifford DeLoache, Jr. He has two living brothers, John Pearson and George DeLoache. Their father's name was, of course, Charles Clifford DeLoache and their mother was a school teacher in Savannah named Mildred Pearson. Charles Sr.'s father was Simeon Deloache, Simeon's father was Seaborn DeLoache. The family was originally from Edgefield County, SC. Charles Sr.'s siblings were Francis, Clyde and Joe. Francis and Clyde were supposedly females? My father was raised in Macon and Savannah,GA. His father was born around 1892 in Edgefield. He died in Savannah, I believe in the 1950s or 60s. His wife Mildred died in Savannah in 1934. Charles was a Baptist but Mildred was a Christian Scientist. If you know where I might find a connection to this line please let me know.

    3. Hi Mike, I'm sorry, but unfortunately I don't know very much about the Bazemore family. My grandmother died in 1943 (and I was born in 1970) so all that I know was told to me by my father. I joined this list right before he died and I really wish that I was able to have his input now. One thing that I do know is that in south Georgia was a family that traveled and sang called "The Bazemore Sisters" and they were cousins to my grandmother. I don't even know the name of her parents, but I certainly plan on doing some digging this summer. I'll keep these names in case I run across some Bazemore information.
